Trash & Recycling

Pursuant to Act 101, Elizabethtown Borough provides a comprehensive trash and recycling program for residents.

Household trash and recycling is collected curbside in Elizabethtown Borough once a week by Lebanon Farms Disposal.  Residents may use one container or bag no larger than 32-gallons and weighing no more than 30 pounds for trash disposal.  More than one container or bag requires a $2.00 extra trash tag that can be purchased at the Borough Office or local convenience and grocery stores.

Residents may use a recycling container (or multiple containers) of choice as long as it is within the size and weight limits – simply apply a recycling sticker to the container(s).  Free recycling and yard waste stickers are available at the Elizabethtown Borough Office.

Special collection dates are also available throughout the year for leaves, yard waste, white goods and tires. Residents may also place one oversized item per week curbside as long as the item can be lifted into the truck by Lebanon Farms Disposal truck crew.

In addition to the Borough’s comprehensive trash and recycling program, Lancaster County residents may also take advantage of the trash and recycling programs offered by Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA).
