Officer/Employee of the Year

Detective Matthew T. Shuey is the senior detective in the Elizabethtown Police Department, and he continuously strives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of both the detectives’ office and the entire EPD.  Detective Shuey is not only a good police officer, but also a good employee, taking it upon himself to mentor and teach the younger officers in the EPD, and to assist them with their assigned cases in addition to working his own cases.  Detective Shuey has closed some significant cases in the past year and has also exhibited leadership to the younger officers while continuing to carry a full caseload of investigations.  Having received a majority of the votes of his fellow Elizabethtown Police Officers, Detective Matthew T. Shuey is awarded the Officer of the Year award for the year 2019.
